Mark Baran

Mark Baran, JD, CPA, ACI, joined GPWA in 2019 and is Director - Business Development and Tax Research. He began his career in public accounting by providing tax and accounting services to small businesses and medical practices in Northeast Ohio. His career continued at the accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand, which merged into PricewaterhouseCoopers, where Mark was promoted to Tax Manager and accepted to law school. After law school, Mark practiced civil trial law in state and federal courts throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania. He is currently an actively licensed Ohio attorney and an actively licensed Arizona Certified Public Accountant. Mark’s fields of specialization include captive insurance formation and management, F&I business consulting, Internal Revenue Service negotiations, insurance company taxation, annual financial statement preparation, and non-controlled foreign corporations.
